The Mackenzie Municipal Services Agency provides a full range of professional, high quality land use planning and related services to its municipal members, business community and the general public. The Agency also provides subdivision services to 17 municipalities, pursuant to Section 625 of the MGA - Municipal Government Act.

Municipal planning involves balancing competing interests to achieve ecological, social, and economic sustainability over rural and urban landscapes.  Planning is an exercise of compromise in working through facilitation, negotiation and mediation to establish a preferred course of direction for the future of our communities and landscapes.

Mackenzie Municipal Services Agency is the municipal service provider of choice for intergrated regional planning and value added expertise in the visionary progression of Communities.

MISSION STATEMENT

Inspiring the best quality of life within the region through constant development of progressive strategies that are centred on sustainable, effective and effiecient service delivery.

OUR MANDATE

1. Provide a full range of land use planning and other municipal services to "full service member" municipalities for a full fee;
2. Provide core land use planning and other municipal services to "core service member" municipalities for a base fee;
3. Be a forerunner in advancing the interests of its members to the province and/or region;
4. Provide a forum to address and discuss land use planning issues that affect the Mackenzie Region and its municipalities;
5. Achieve planning objectives in the most cost-effective way;
6. Promote pooling of resources by members and other non-member municipalities;
7. Promote inter-municipal cooperation, collaboration and service delivery; and
8. Provide professional planning services to clientele outside of the current membership.
